President of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakyan congratulated the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejan on re-election. The message reads:

“Honorable Mr. Ahmadinejad,

On behalf of the people and authorities of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic I cordially congratulate you on this splendid and convincing victory in the elections of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

I am confident that your experience and knowledge, strength and energy of a capable leader will contribute to further the development and prosperity of the Islamic Republic.

We in Artsakh rate highly your balanced position on the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict settlement process and are confident that throughout your presidency the ties between the two our friendly nations will further strengthen. This will greatly contribute to peace and stability in the region.

I congratulate you once again on being reelected to this high and responsible position and wish success in all your patriotic undertakings. Let the people of Iran live in peace and prosperity.”
