 The Foreign Minister of Armenia, Edward Nalbandian, received Rogelio Pfirter, the Secretary General of the Organization for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW).
Greeting the guest, Minister Nalbandian positively assessed the activity of the Organization for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and Mr. Pfirter’s role in realizing the organization’s objectives.
Minister Nalbandian underlined that the OPCW activity goes in line with the contemporary challenges and the efforts of the international community, especially in preventing the mass proliferation of nuclear weapons.
The interlocutors discussed issues connected with Armenia- OPCW cooperation. Rogelio Pfirter expressed appreciation for the efforts of the organization targeted at helping Armenia implement the Chemical Weapons Convention.
Touching upon regional issues, the parties expressed confidence that the joining of all countries to teh Convention would be an important factor for ensuring stability and security in the world.
