Bogdan Klich: Armenia-NATO dialogue to benefit from Armenia-Turkey normalization

“There is great potential for the development of military-political cooperation between Armenia and Poland, and this opportunity should be used,” the Defense Ministers of the two courtiers told reporters at Zvartnots airport. They particularly stressed the cooperation in the fields of military education and international peacekeeping.

“Armenia was Europe even when Europe had not understood that it was Europe,” the National Defense Minister of Poland Bogdan Klich said, stressing that Armenia should further reinforce its ties with the European Union. Poland has been an EU member for 5 years, and its path of European integration could be useful to Armenia, he said.

Bogdan Klich refrained from commenting on the bellicose statements of Azerbaijan. “Poland stands for the peaceful settlement of conflicts in the South Caucasus. Bellicose statements are not the best way to solve issues. Political dialogue is the best way to overcome crisis situations. As usual we are ready to support the peaceful settlement of the conflict,” he said.

According to Bogdan Klich, Poland closely watches the development of the Armenian-Turkish relations. “The ratification of the protocols signed in Switzerland by the Armenian and Turkish Parliaments will contribute to the resolution of conflicts in the South Caucasus. Without any doubt, it will enhance the dialogue between Armenia and the North Atlantic Council.”
